D'Angelico Deluxe Series guitars represent the best of the D'Angelico brand. In addition to superior craftsmanship, they boast features previously reserved only for the top-of-the-line D'Angelico limited edition models.
The Deluxe Bedford SH Desert Gold is an instrument with the offset shape of Bedford electric guitars, a chambered alder body and a shaped F hole that brings out the best of the sound qualities of solid and bay bodies. Glued to the three-piece maple and walnut neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Jescar 47/104 pakfong (Nickel Silver) frets. The neck's narrow C profile ensures smooth finger movement on the fingerboard and a comfortable finish, while orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by Mother of Pearl/Abalone Split Block position blocks.
A vintage mini humbucker and two tele-style single coil pickups with Alnico 2 and 5 magnets (all Seymour Duncan) give the guitar a wide range of tones, i.e. the lively highs of the single-coils and the tight bass of the full-sized humbuckers (vintage mini hum) and the warmer highs of the tele-style singles (the middle pickup has reversed polarity and windings for noise suppression). The sound of the instrument thus stands out in a wide range of musical styles.
The body of the guitar is balanced by a stylish Art Deco headstock adorned with a mother-of-pearl corporate logo and inlay. Stable tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the TusQ zero fret in the Grover 509 Super Rotomatic Locking mechanism and the TOM bridge in the truss rod. The stylish finish is accentuated by a cream five-ply pickguard, ebony potentiometer caps and nickel hardware.
The guitar comes in a deluxe hardshell case.
