The Cort SJB series offers electroacoustic basses based on the proven Super Jumbo concept. These instruments have been developed with the cooperation of many players, resulting in basses with superior craftsmanship, exceptional materials and components, balanced and rich sound and overall above-average quality. There is no reason to think that the Cort SJB will ever let you down.
The front of this instrument is made of solid spruce, while the sides and back are made of laminated mahogany. The neck is also mahogany. The bass has a cutout for easier access to higher positions. The fingerboard is made of ovangkol and is fitted with 22 frets. The body has a black binding, the fingerboard positions are marked with white dots and there is a black and white rosette around the sound hole. The finish of the instrument is matt.
The strings are mounted in Hipshot Ultralite tuners with a 20:1 gear ratio and an ovangkol fingerboard, which is shaped to best transmit the vibrations of the strings to the body. A Fishman Sonicore piezo pickup and a Fishman Presys II preamp with volume control, two-band EQ, tuner and Phase switch ensure a reliable, high-quality sound.
