The Gold series of acoustic guitars represents the qualitative pinnacle of Cort acoustic guitars to date. It should not miss the attention of true guitar connoisseurs.
The Gold-OC8 NAT electro-acoustic guitar offers a more compact Orchestra (OM) body shape. The guitar's soundboard is made of solid Sitka spruce wood of Master Grade quality, which has undergone a special heat treatment before assembly (a torefaction process called ATV - Aged to Vintage). The result is the sound and look of decades of aged wood, yet it is a brand new model. The back and sides are made of solid pau ferro, a wood with properties very similar to rosewood. The natural acoustic resonance of the wood is enhanced by a thin layer of UV lacquer, hand-picked ribbing (Scalloped-X) and the DoubleLock method of bolting the mahogany neck. The mahogany neck itself is reinforced with two pieces of walnut for extra stability.
The ebony fingerboard surface is divided by twenty frets and position markers in the form of decorative mother-of-pearl inlays. Stability of tuning is guaranteed by the string attachment in the Deluxe Vintage Gold mechanics in gold finish and in the ebony headstock. Traditional decorative and practical elements are complemented by a mother-of-pearl rosette (Abalone), white binding with three-layer binding, a pickguard in imitation tortoiseshell and ebony pegs for the fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dots.
The Fishman Flex Blend electronics take advantage of a combination of underneath-the-coil piezo pickup and microphone to faithfully capture the acoustic sound. Controls in the guitar's headstock adjust the mic/piezo pickup ratio, volume, EQ, and activate phase and built-in tuner functions. The guitar comes in a high-quality case (Cort Deluxe Soft-Side Case) that combines the best features of cases with the practicality of padded gig-bags.
