The Gold series of acoustic guitars represents the qualitative pinnacle of Cort acoustic guitars to date. It should not miss the attention of true guitar connoisseurs.
Specifically, the Gold D6 model is a dreadnought acoustic guitar. The instrument's soundboard is made of solid Sitka spruce wood of Master Grade quality, which has undergone a special heat treatment before assembly (a process of torefaction called ATV - Aged to Vintage). The result is the sound and look of decades of aged wood, yet it is a brand new model. The back and sides are made of solid mahogany, which accentuates the sonic qualities of the all-wood body.
The mahogany neck is glued to a fingerboard made of Makasar ebony with twenty frets, and orientation on its surface is facilitated by positional dots and decorative inlay on the twelfth fret. The stability of the neck and the overall construction of the instrument is enhanced by the walnut neck bracing and the DoubleLock connection to the body, which, together with a thin layer of UV lacquer and hand-picked Scalloped X ribbing, promotes the natural acoustic resonance of the wood.
Mounting the strings in the ebony fingerboard and routing them through the saddle and right bone fret ensures optimal vibration transfer to the body of the instrument and good sustain. Stability of tuning is ensured by Deluxe Vintage Gold mechanics in gold finish. The quality of workmanship is emphasized by traditional decorative elements in the form of ornate mother-of-pearl rosettes (Abalone), bright trim complemented by lines of the peripheral bracing, centre backboard bracing, ebony pegs for the fingerboard and pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell, which also protects the lacquer of the instrument from scratches.
The guitar comes in a high-quality case (Cort Deluxe Soft-Side Case) that combines the best features of cases with the practicality of padded gig-bags.
