Cort's Modern series basses combine traditional JB design, the best components from renowned companies and many modern features to give you maximum playing comfort.
The body of the instrument is composed of a middle maple block and "wings" made of paulownia wood, which gives it a very comfortable weight and at the same time great acoustic properties. The unique aesthetics of the instrument are given by the top made of poplar root, or a layer of white ash on the back. The body is then bolted to a neck made of baked maple, which, compared to traditional maple, has greater stability, better sound characteristics and also a stylish vintage touch. The fingerboard is also made of baked maple and features 22 frets, black block position markers or Luminlay glowing position markers on the top.
Sound pickups are handled by a top-notch set of Nordstrand pickups, specifically the Big Single models, which are renowned for their massive sound. These are complemented by the popular Markbass Instrument Pre amplifier, which gives you a three-band EQ with carefully selected frequencies and a very clear, focused bass sound at all times. The preamp can then be switched between active and passive modes using the push/pull tone diaphragm potentiometer, giving you a truly stunning sonic palette. In addition, this model is capable of operating with both 9 and 18 volts, which greatly expands the sonic possibilities.
The manufacturer has also taken great care with the hardware used in this model. You will find here, for example, a massive Babicz headstock, which provides a wider dynamic range and improved sustain, while the popular Ultralite mechanics from Hipshot take care of perfectly stable tuning. The instrument comes in a luxurious soft-case packaging that combines the robustness of hard cases with the lightness of padded cases.
