Cort's Earth series is a range of well-crafted dreadnought acoustic guitars in both traditional and vintage styles. Thanks to their semi-massive body construction and affordability, they are a good choice for beginners and experienced players alike.
The front plate of the Earth 200F ATV is made of solid Sitka spruce wood, which has undergone a special heat treatment before assembly (a torefaction process called ATV - Aged to Vintage). The result is the sound and look of decades of aged wood, yet it is a brand new model. The back and sides are made of refinished rosewood. This combination of woods gives the instrument a balanced sound with the necessary amount of tonal clarity and warmth. The mahogany neck is glued to an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets, with positioning dots to facilitate orientation across its surface. The natural acoustic resonance of the wood is enhanced by the reduced X ribbing.
The fit of the strings in the ebony fingerboard with ebony pegs routed through the saddle and the zero fret made of real buffalo bone guarantees optimal vibration transmission to the body of the instrument and good sustain. Stability of tuning is ensured by Grover mechanics with 18:1 gear ratio. The appearance of the instrument is enhanced by traditional elements in the form of an ornate ivory rosette, bright perimeter binding and a pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell, which also protects the instrument's lacquer from scratches.
Sound pickups are handled by a Fishman Sonitone preamp with discreetly placed drivers in the guitar's soundhole and a Fishman Sonicore piezo pickup.
