The A5 Plus SC from the Artisan series features a through neck composed of five pieces of maple and Panga Panga woods, a solid swamp ash body and a poplar burl top, which transfers the vibrations of the strings evenly to the body, resulting in a very specific and modern sound with an ideal ratio of bass, mids and treble. The single-sided cutaway improves the stability and balance of the instrument, providing maximum comfort when playing and easily accessible higher positions on the fingerboard.
Sound pickups are provided by a pair of high-quality pickups from the renowned Bartolini company. The bass offers both a passive mode, where a Master Volume and Blend control is available to mix the sound of both pickups, and an active mode, where the tone can be adjusted using the three-band equalizer. This allows the instrument to produce a range of different sounds suitable for a variety of musical styles.
The high quality Hipshot Transtone headstock allows the strings to both pass through the body and attach to the soundboard, further expanding the tonal possibilities of the instrument. On the other hand, the strings are mounted in precision tuning machines from the same company.
