With the shift in production and some significant changes, the V2 Standard Series guitars offer a significant improvement in build quality throughout the series, fast comfortable necks and rounded fingerboard edges for greater playing comfort, fundamentally changed pickup design with new magnets sourced in the USA to give the instruments better sound and dynamics, and last but not least, more vibrant more impressive colour finishes.
The Chapman ML1 Modern Abyss V2 from the Standard Series is a versatile instrument that will be at home in a variety of musical styles. Playability is ensured by a lightweight, mahogany body with distinctive bracing, a maple neck with a pleasing C profile that will fit most players well, and an ebony fingerboard with rounded edges. The string attachment, running through the neck, gives the guitar longer sustain and greater tuning stability. The Chapman Sonorous Zero's humbucker coils can be "tapped" with the retractable tone control to get a single-coil sound as well.
Other features of note include a stylish flamed maple top veneer, two-way neck bracing, a TusQ XL zero fret, pearl inlay position markers, and precision tuning mechanics with an 18:1 gear ratio.
