The W-TAE Core, or Waza Tube Amp Expander Core from Boss, is a device that allows you to harness the full potential of your all-tube amp, whether for recording, live performance or quiet home practice. This compact box houses everything you'll need to get the best possible sound out of your amp at all times. A reactive loadbox with selectable Combo/Stack modes faithfully captures the specific characteristics of your machine and gives you an authentic sound. The built-in 30W reactive amplifier with continuous attenuation allows you to achieve rich tonal complexity even at low volumes. The Air Feel function gives you natural ambience and adds a new dimension to your sound. And that's just the beginning.
This unit will become your right hand for recording and help you achieve studio-quality sound. Its Mix Assist feature automatically optimizes your sound for recording, mixing and mastering purposes. It offers you 22 speaker emulations, including Celestion Digital IR, and 64 user slots for your own IR. It will also allow you to choose between five microphone types. There's also a range of premium stereo effects, including compressor, delay, reverb and parametric EQ - all of which you'll be able to customise in the dedicated software for editing and recording your IRs (available for macOS/Windows). Ten user presets can be stored in the device's memory, so you'll always have your favourite setup to hand.
On the rear panel, you'll find an 8 Ω tube amp input with a maximum output of 100 watts, a speaker output with a minimum impedance of 4 Ω, and two XLR outputs (L, R) for connection to recording equipment. There are also connectors for external effects loop integration (Send, Return), a USB interface for direct recording with a DAW or connection to editing software, a MIDI input and a slot for a BT-DUAL adapter (not included) that allows Bluetooth connectivity. The Roland PSB-12U adapter, which is included, is used exclusively to power the device.
