The Boss RE-2 Space Echo offers the authentic sound and feel of the popular Roland RE-201 analogue tape echo produced between 1974 and 1990 in the body of a BOSS compact series pedal effect.
The box offers the classic sounds of the original's three tape heads with optional spring reverb and extended delay effect. In eleven modes, you can choose from different combinations of reverb, echo and delay effects and balance their ratios using the controls. All processes/changes, such as the gradual change in tuning when turning the Repeat Rate knob and the reverberating feedback when turning the Intensity knob all the way to the right, match the behavior of the original. And with the expressive Wow & Flutter function, you can conjure up all the natural modulations that are absolutely essential to the sound of the Space Echo effect.
You can also choose between a pure analog dry signal and the modulated sound of the original Space Echo preamp, mono and stereo wiring, use the tap tempo function or connect your expression pedal or external footswitches to the pedal effect via the CTL/EXP connector.
The box, like all current Boss pedals, operates in Buffered Bypass mode. Power is supplied by a 9V battery or 9V adapter (adapter not included).
