Boss Nextone Special

The Boss Nextone Special is a two-channel transistor combo with 80 watts of power that you'll appreciate in any situation (live playing, rehearsing, recording, home practice) thanks to its flexibility and wide range of features. It is the ideal choice for players looking for a comprehensive unit with the qualities of a tube amp/combo, while offering maximum reliability and minimum maintenance.

The combo offers a Class AB amplifier with authentic Tube Logic sound technology, i.e. faithful simulations of tube sound, allowing you to choose between typical American tube sound (6V6 and 6L6 tube simulations) and British tube sound (EL84 and EL34). Thanks to Tube Logic technology, the combo will give you the "moulded" sound of an amplifier even when set to room volume (the combo offers selectable power outputs of 80, 60, 40, 20 and 0.5 watts).

Compared to the Nextone Artist and Stage versions, the combo offers two independent channels (Clean and Lead) with separate controls and expanded audio settings. The character of each channel's sound can now be shaped using the three-band EQ in American or British modes (American and British switches), the three controls (Bottom, Top, Presence) of the end-amp section, and the Extra Head Room and Tone switches. Use the Solo Clean and Solo Lead controls to set the appropriate volume jump to accentuate guitar solos (external controllers, i.e. GA-FC switch and standard Boss footswitches are not included). A nice refresh to the sound is the effects unit with built-in Boost, Delay, Reverb effects. In addition, you can easily save your favourite settings to the three combo memories (Tone Settings buttons).

The rear panel of the combo offers outputs to external cabinets (1x 8 Ohm, 2x 16 Ohm), line outputs (XLR, jack 6.3 mm), complemented by an Air Feel switch to set one of three simulated cabinet microphone pickups, and a USB interface for direct upload to your DAW, re-amping and interfacing with Nextone Editor software, an effects loop input/output for integrating your favorite boxes (guitar effects), two footswitch inputs (footswitches not included), and a headphone output for quiet and undisturbed playing.

The cabinet of the combo is fitted with a Custom Waza B12W speaker inspired by the blue bell speakers of the 60's, to which they have added the ability to handle the heavier load of modern amplifiers.
