Boss Katana Artist Gen3

The third generation of Boss Katana Gen 3 guitar hybrids offers even more refined sounds and feel of classic amps with improved BOSS Tube Logic technology, an updated BOSS Tone Studio app for even easier and more intuitive editing on PC or mobile device, and six new guitar sound characters, where the five sound modes from previous versions of Boss Katana (Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brown and Acoustic) are complemented by Pushed mode, which gives you a sound at the interface of clean and overdrive, where virtual tubes start to gently draw. As with the older version of Boss Katana, the third generation lets you choose between two more voicings of each mode (the Variations switch).

The Boss Katana Artist Gen 3 is a guitar hybrid combo with 100 watts of power. Thanks to the Power Control function (100W, 50W, 0.5W) you can enjoy the "kicked up" sound and response of the machine even at room volume. Within the wide range of machine sounds, you'll easily find your own - whether you're more into oldies retro tones, more modern hi-gain or looking for a sound optimised for electro-acoustic guitars. The effect unit offers a total of fifteen effects in five categories (Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, Reverb), and you can use all five effect groups simultaneously to fully replace the boxes in your pedalboard. By connecting to BOSS Tone Studio software you can go even further - you can customise sections with over 60 different effect types, change the order of effects in strings and much more.

In addition to the standard three-band pre-amp section EQ and the Presence potentiometer of the end amp, you can shape the sound with a three-position Contour control, a Global EQ switch with customization options in Boss Tone Studio, and now a Bloom switch to change the response and feel of the machine. You'll also appreciate the Solo control for "kicking up" the sound with a delay effect and the ability to adjust the signal gain level. A definite plus is the ability to save your favourite type and effect settings in the Tone Setting memory. There are eight Tone Settings memories (two banks of four) and you can select from them directly from the panel. You can also connect an external footswitch (recommended footswitches FS-5L, FS-6, FS-7 are not included) and conveniently control effects with it.

The combo also offers compatibility with sounds/presets from older versions of Boss Katana guitar hybrids, an effects loop for easy integration of your favorite pedal effects, connection of two Boss Katana Artist Gen 3 stowatts thanks to the Stereo Expand function, GA-FC support, the ability to download and share sounds on the Boss Tone Exchange, power amp input, USB port for recording directly into your DAW, MIDI compatibility, line XLR output, the ability to customize the character of the cab simulation sound using the Air Feel and Cab Resonance functions (Vintage, Modern and Deep), headphone output and Aux In input.

The foundation of the combo's sound quality is the Custom Waza 12-inch speaker.
