Guitar Modelling Combo / HN185397
The Katana-Air wireless hybrid combo from Japan's Boss takes the hassle out of carrying cables - be they instrument, interconnect, network or adapters - once and for all. It's a completely wireless, compact, battery-powered device with solid, ultra-low-latency sound and high-quality digital effects, including instrument simulations. Bluetooth technology allows free music streaming, via the Tone Studio app (iOS or Android operating systems) to adjust individual sound parameters of the combo drivers or download individual sounds (patches) from the Boss Tone Central library.
Katana-Air is a two-channel combo with five selectable sound modes (instrument simulations) and a digital processor providing over fifty types of delay, reverb and modulation-based guitar effects. Simply store your favourite setup, i.e. the combination of the instrument sound and effects, in one of the six memories the combo has. The combo's stereo headphone jack also serves as an output for recording with a simulated speaker mix. A USB output is also available for connection to PC/recording devices.
Instead of cables, you now only need a transmitter with an instrument jack and a rechargeable cell. It offers twelve hours of operation per charge, instantly switches to standby mode when there is no activity, and can be recharged directly in the combo dock. The transmitter is also equipped with motion sensing technology that instantly wakes the combo from sleep mode in the event of activity.
In addition to charging with batteries (8x AA, LR6, HR6), the Katana-Air combo can be powered with the included 13V adapter. In both modes it offers different power output - with the adapter the maximum power output is thirty watts, with batteries twenty.
