The Blackstar Dept. 10 series is a limited edition series of true tube-driven Dual Drive, Dual Distortion and Boost pedal effects designed by Blackstar's in-house team of skilled engineers known as Dept. 10.
At the heart of the new pedals is the ECC83 tube (triode), which, along with an internal voltage of over 200V, offers an organic sound, natural dynamics and musical distortion that the tube emulation/simulation circuits of conventional pedal effects can't offer.
Dept. 10 Dual Distortion is a two channel distortion effect with four different voicings (Clean and Crunch on the first channel, Overdrive 1 and Overdrive 2 on the second channel), a three-band EQ, patented ISF circuit (allows you to switch between US and UK sound character), USB interface with ultra-low latency for recording, XLR DI output as a solution for live performances, an effects loop for easy integration into any pedalboard, and a newly developed Cab Rig DSP speaker simulation capable of reproducing the sound and feel of professionally voiced guitar speakers. More advanced Cab Rig DSP simulation editing options (cabs, microphones, mic positions, virtual rooms) are offered by the Architect software, which is freely downloadable.
The included 9V adapter is used for power supply.
