The Behringer SB 78A is a condenser microphone with a switch, cardioid characteristic and durable body construction. The SB 78AS is a dream come true for artists and home recording enthusiasts alike. These professional quality condenser microphones are designed to capture your sounds with incredible realism, sensitivity and accuracy. Condenser microphones are the ideal choice for capturing vocals and acoustic instruments. They are the main type of microphones used in recording studios and radio stations. SB 78A microphones are able to capture much more detail than most dynamic microphones due to their wider and also more neutral frequency response. Another difference between condenser and dynamic microphones is that they contain active circuitry that requires phantom power (+48 V) to operate. The SB 78A can be powered using any mixing console or preamplifier equipped with phantom power.
The SB 78A's cardioid pickup characteristic makes it suitable for separating the sound source from ambient noise while suppressing feedback very well. There is also a switch with a set low cut filter to eliminate unnecessary low frequencies. The capsule is fitted with a double pop filter that tries to minimize the sound of hard consonants, and the shock-mount system prevents vibrations from being transmitted from the microphone body when it is held in your hand or placed on a stand. The microphone delivers super-clear sound with minimal distortion and moderate lift in the critical mid-high frequency range.
A hard protective case and microphone holder for placement on a stand are included.
