The Behringer Pro-800 is a synthesizer that is making a strong mark in the world of electronic music thanks to its rich palette of sonic possibilities. Each voice on this instrument is generated by two oscillators, each offering a choice of three waveforms: sawtooth, triangle and square, complete with pulse width and level controls. The instrument also features a low-pass filter (-24 dB/oct.) with resonance control, envelope modulation and key tracking, allowing the maker to precisely shape the character of the sound. It also adds a noise generator and LFO with six selectable waveforms and modulation destinations (pitch, pulse width and filter frequency).
The Pro-800 also offers a Poly Mod section that allows modulation of the A oscillator and filter frequency through the filter envelope and B oscillator, expanding the possibilities for sound creation and experimentation. With two ADSR envelopes (filter and VCA), additional controls for glide, tuning and volume, and a switchable Unison mode, the synth allows users detailed control over the dynamics and structure of the sounds they create. The Pro-800 also offers memory for storing up to 400 presets, making it easy to access and switch between favorite and frequently used sounds, and an arpeggiator for creating complex melodies and sequences.
When it comes to connectivity, the Pro-800 is superbly equipped. It offers sync and CV filter inputs in 3.5mm mini-jack format, a footswitch input (6.3mm jack), two line outputs (6.3mm jack and 3.5mm mini-jack) and a stereo headphone output (3.5mm mini-jack). MIDI in/out (5-pole DIN) and USB-MIDI expand the possibilities for connection and integration into existing studio or stage setups. The Pro-800 is also fully compatible with Eurorack installations (width: 80 HP) and with dimensions of 424 x 136 x 97 mm and a weight of 1.65 kg, this synthesizer is compact and portable enough for a wide range of musical applications and scenarios.
