The Behringer MX882 is a highly flexible eight-channel splitter/mixer.
The MX882 features 6 mono balanced inputs (4 x XLR, 2 x Jack 6.3 mm) and 6 mono balanced outputs (4 x XLR, 2 x Jack 6.3 mm), 2 main balanced inputs (XLR) and 2 main balanced outputs (XLR).
The MX882 essentially consists of 6 mono channels that can be used as a splitter or as a mixer. For example, a stereo source can be connected via the main inputs and then routed to one of the mono channels set to Split mode. For example - use channel 1 with the Split/Mix switch in the out (Split) position. Adjusting the Channel 1 Balance/Pan control will set how much of the signal from the left and right main inputs will be routed to the XLR Channel 1 mono output. You can do the same with all 6 channels of the MX882. In Mix mode, the input signals from any or all of the MX882's 6 channels can be mixed to the stereo main output, with their individual Balance/Pan controls determining the placement of the signal in the stereo image (Pan). Advantageously, when operating in Mix mode, the stereo Main Input signal is automatically sent to the Main Outputs - allowing up to 8 individual signals to be combined in total. The monophonic input signals are still sent to their respective monophonic outputs, meaning that each channel can also be used as a separate matching amplifier. Level controls for the respective channels allow the user to adjust the levels freely (maximum gain is +15 dB). Levels used in home recording (-10 dBV) can be easily converted to studio levels (+4 dBu) and vice versa.
The MX882 operates with an extremely wide bandwidth from 5 Hz to 20 kHz for the highest possible signal integrity. There are 4/8 segment input/output level meters for all channels.
