The Behringer ECM8000 is an ultralinear measurement condenser microphone. A small jazz club sounds completely different from a large theatre, which in turn sounds completely different from a rock arena. To get the best sound in any room, you first need to understand its acoustics - and because every room is acoustically unique, you need the right equipment to select consistently perfect sound.
The ECM8000 is a special condenser microphone designed for real-time frequency response measurements. This analysis provides an instant acoustic picture of the room, where you can then use a graphic equalizer to tune the performance of the sound system to perfectly match the balanced response characteristics of the room. The ECM8000 is a highly accurate and very affordable measurement microphone that should be part of every serious sound engineer's kit.
The ECM8000's flat frequency response of 15 Hz to 20 kHz and its omnidirectional pickup characteristic allow you to clearly and accurately record the unique sound characteristics of any room. It is also perfect as a complement to, for example, the Ultracurve DEQ2496 mastering processor.
Like standard condenser microphones used for recording or live performance, the ECM8000 requires phantom power (+15 to +48 V).
A protective case and microphone holder for placement on a stand are included.
