This new volume explores the slap technique - mainly from a beginner/intermediate perspective and with an emphasis on practical application (examples of different musical styles and famous players) in songs and in the band.
In the book you will learn how to apply the five basic slap techniques - thumb stroke, plucked tone, percussive notes,
taps, and left hand plucks. For all five of these elements to have the proper quality, you must also make abundant use of
the inner surface of the fingers and palm for proper damping. The aim of the book is to guide you through a practical and professional musical application
the following 101 exercises.

Emphasis is placed on understanding the principles of slap as a technique that can enrich your means of expression and be
a valid musical element for practical use in compositions of different musical styles. Tasteful slap line
can elevate an ordinary chord progression into a potential hit, and equally, if used inappropriately, ruin a solidly
a well-written song or the patience of a bandmate.

The practical part of the book, in the form of slap exercises, is divided into eight basic sections:

● Exercises 1-14 deal only with the thumb stroke.
● Exercises 15-26 add plucked notes to the thumb stroke.
● Exercises 27-40 combine thumb stroke, plucked notes and percussive notes
● Exercises 41-52 add thumb taps
● Exercises 53-62 deal primarily with plucks (in combination with the above elements)
● Exercises 63-69 focus on the use of empty strings in slap grooves
● Exercises 70-89 stylistic studies - the use of slaps in different musical styles and playing situations
● Exercises 90-101 slap hero studies - grooves in the style of legendary players from the history of slap technique

All exercises have tablature in addition to the standard notation, and for each note you will find a recommended
fingerings (1 - index finger , 2 - middle finger, 3 - ring finger, 4 - pinky finger).

The intention was also to try playing in all twelve keys and in as wide a range of fingerboard positions as possible.

Each exercise is modular - you can loop one or two bars and try them at slower tempos.

Also new are mp3s with loops of live drum patterns at different tempos to liven up your practice
