The Applause line represents more affordable acoustic guitars with design features of Ovation instruments.
The front of the AE44II Mid Cutaway Vintage Varnish Satin is made of laminated spruce. The resonance of the top is enhanced by the placement and shape of the soundholes and the reduced X-type ribbing of the front plate. The rest of the body consists of an arched Mid Depth body made of hi-tech Lyrachord material, which provides the instrument with sufficient warmth of tone and comfort for the musicians.
A neck made of nato (eastern mahogany) is glued to an ovangkol fingerboard. An interesting feature is the beveled design of the fingerboard, which offers seventeen frets on the thickest bass string, while on the thinnest one you have six more frets. The strings themselves are anchored via a plastic zero fret in an ovangkol fingerboard and chrome black tuning machines. The stylish finish is accentuated by the headstock in the typical Ovation design and the bright top binding.
The Applause CE304T preamp in the back of the guitar with a three-band EQ and built-in tuner provides a sound system.
