Akai MPD 232

USB/MIDI Controller / HN158796
MPD232 is a MIDI/USB pad controller for DJs, programmers, producers and other musicians. It is built on the same controls and technology as the Akai Professional MPC series, which has become the industry standard in this field. The MPD232 is an expressive and intuitive tool for the studio and stage.

At the heart of the MPD232 is its bank of 16 velocity and pressure sensitive MPC pads, exclusive to Akai Pro. Four different banks of MPC pads can be assigned to individual pads for a total of up to 64 sounds. The MPD32 also borrows assignable Q-Link drivers from the MPC series, allowing you to control almost any software parameter in real time. You get eight assignable Q-Link faders, eight assignable 360° rotary Q-Link controllers, and eight assignable Q-Link buttons. So you'll spend less time with the mouse and more time making music. Even better, each Q-Link offers access to up to three different parameters for a total of up to 72 Q-Links in real time! You also get two assignable foot switch inputs and a continuous foot pedal for even more ways to control and play with the MPD232. Plus, the MPD232 offers a special set of Transport Controllers for instant access to the most commonly used DAW or sequencer controls.

While the MPC pads and Q-Link might be the heart of the MPD232, its brains are transplanted directly from the MPC. That's because the MPD232 isn't just a hardware driver, it also incorporates some of the core technologies that have made MPC the de facto standard. MPC Note Repeat is a feature that allows MPD (or MPC) series devices to automatically and rhythmically play rhythmic patterns, such as hi-hat saver notes, with complete accuracy. MPC Swing is like the "feel of soul and hip hop" because it perfectly humanizes sequences into natural timing. You can choose the accuracy and degree of timing of the swing. That's how you get the right feel. The MPD232 also offers MPC Full Level and MPC 16-Level on its pads.

It sends MIDI data via USB interface and you can use it with Mac or PC without installing any driver. The USB connection also provides power to the MPD232 unit, so the included USB cable is all you need. It comes with its own version of Ableton Live Lite, so you can start creating right out of the box. In addition to Live and almost any other MIDI software, you can also control all MIDI hardware such as synthesizers, sound modules, samplers, sequencers, drum machines, and more.

Whether you come up with an inspired idea in the studio or on stage, the MPD232 gives you a comprehensive set of inputs and controls with the unique feel of MPC - only from Akai Professional.
