The MPD218 is the easiest way to add real MPC pads to your build. This MIDI/USB pad controller for DJs, programmers, producers, and other musicians is built on Akai's industry standard Professional Series MPC pads and controllers.
The MPD218 is an expressive and intuitive tool for use in the studio and on stage. The MPD218 is built on MPC effects and incorporates select identical technologies that give your tracks the unmistakably human dimension of MPC. Its compact size makes it easy to fit into any lineup. Combined with virtually any MIDI software, the MPD218 provides everything you need to create tracks with a great feel.
At the heart of the MPD218 is a set of 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive MPC pads, exclusively from Akai Pro. Three different banks can be assigned to individual MPC pads for a total of up to 48 pad sounds.
The MPD18 also borrows assignable Q-Link drivers from the MPC series, allowing you to control almost any software parameter in real time. You get assignable Q-Link faders for natural control over your most frequently used parameters. MPC Note Repeat lets you quickly insert patters as party hi-hats or drum rolls.
It also has 16 configurable presets so you can prepare your own program for the way you work with different hardware and software devices.
It sends MIDI information via a USB interface, so you can use it with a Mac or PC without having to install any drivers. Power is also handled directly via USB. So that's all you need for your mobile music production.
