The JS series offers affordable electric guitars that give you the true Jackson tone without breaking the bank or compromising on build quality. Specifically, the models labeled RR Minion JS1X are "V" guitars, i.e. Flying V-type guitars that feature a shorter, two-thirds scale. This makes them an ideal choice of instrument for children, players with smaller fingers or, in general, for lovers of more compact shapes, who can get their hands on a full-fledged metal instrument with a modern design.
The body of this guitar is made of poplar. A single piece maple neck is bolted to a single piece amaranth (purpleheart) fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by Sharkfin-type position markers.
Two company-branded humbuckers with high output signal provide the guitar with the juicy sound, so much needed in metal music. Volume potentiometers, tone controls and a three-position pickup switch are used for sonic adjustments. Precise tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the string attachment in the solid bridge and through the body of the instrument and the company's Die-Cast mechanics.
For several decades, electric guitars from the American brand Jackson have appealed primarily to musicians from metal, metal/core, HC or djent bands who profess a loud sound with a more or less diluted dose of aggression, as evidenced by the company's list of players. However, the radical metal design can also enchant adventurous musicians from the completely opposite musical spectrum, as evidenced, for example, by Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote, who in turn clearly prove that the sound of Jackson instruments can make its way into genres built on a clean, warm, sound.
