Prophet Rev2 is an upgraded version of the modern classic Prophet 08 Polysynth from 2007. All key features remain unchanged, polyphony has been increased, the modulation matrix has been expanded, all wave types can be set on both oscillators, digital effects and sequencer options have been improved. In addition, all libraries for Prophet 08 will sound the same on Prophet Rev2 and can be enhanced with new features.

There are sixteen voices of polyphony with digitally controlled oscillators, so you don't have to worry about complex chords. The synthesizer can also be used as two different instruments with eight voices.

A resonant, 2/4 - pole LP Curtis filter can be applied to each voice. These filters were used not only in the original Prophet 08, but also in instruments from the seventies and eighties and guarantee a fat and punchy sound.

The ability to change the pulse width of all wave types (sawtooth, triangle, square, sawtooth+triangle) adds to the sonic variability. The waveform can either be set manually or modulated using LFOs or other sources.

The effects section offers reverb, delay (standard and BBD), chorus, phase shifter, ring modulator and distortion. Different effects can be applied to different layers in Stacked or Split voice modes and can be modulated via the modulation matrix. Compared to the original model, this is easier to use, larger and offers many more modulation sources and targets.

The Stacked and Split voice modes also feature a sequencer with sixty-four steps and six notes per step. Each layer can thus have a different sequence, which you'll especially appreciate when composing. The sequencer also functions as a modulation source in gated mode, with the ability to create up to four sixteen-step sequences for complex modulation. There is an advanced arpeggiator and everything can of course be synchronised with an external MIDI source.

All synth functions can be controlled from the front panel, with 512 factory presets and a further 512 user-overridable programs available. For a comfortable playing experience, there is a premium, semi-weighted keyboard with a five-octave range, dynamics and aftertouch.
