The Fender Squier FSR Classic Vibe '70s Jaguar Gold Sparkle is an affordable, limited-edition (Fender Special Run) instrument inspired by the design of the 1970s Fender Jaguar models, which will be appreciated by beginners and experienced guitarists alike.
The guitar's poplar body is adorned with a spectacular Gold Sparkle finish. The bolted maple neck with a narrower C profile is glued to a fig wood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Narrow Tall frets. Players with smaller fingers will appreciate the instrument's shorter gauge (610 mm). Orientation on the fingerboard is traditionally facilitated by position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl.
Two proprietary single-coil pickups with Alnico magnets give the guitar a sound with authentic Fender character. To modify it, there is a complex switching method, typical of Jaguar guitars, where you choose between two circuits (Lead and Rhythm). In the former you can activate both pickups, in the latter only the neck. The Master Tone and Master Volume potentiometers are used to modify the sound of the Lead circuit, while the character of the Rhythm circuit is adjusted by two rotary knobs (dials) with Volume and Tone functions. Further sound corrections (switching between pickups) are made possible by three two-position switches.
The strings are mounted in vintage style tremolo and tuning machines with period design.
Jaguar guitars are characterized by their typical offset body shape and shorter gauge. Similar to the Jazzmaster models, they gained recognition thanks to the wave of punk and alternative rock, where they are still extremely popular today.
