The Warm Audio WA-8000 is a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone that is a faithful replica of the SONY C800G microphone that became a modern classic during the 1990s.

The SONY C800G is a microphone that still appears on countless platinum recordings today. Its sound can be heard in the productions of artists such as Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight, Eminem, Rihanna, Drake and more. The original stood out for its natural and open sound in the treble, exceptionally clear midrange and ability to render important vocal details, and has become very popular for genres such as R&B, RAP and HIP HOP.

The Warm Audio WA-8000 represents yet another product where the design team has strictly adhered to all of the high-end specifications of the original, but at a price that will pleasantly surprise you. The WA-8000 is fitted with a massive K-67 inspired capsule, a top-notch foundation for capturing every subtle nuance of vocal and acoustic performances, the capsule features two directional characteristics, cardioid and spherical. Another element crucial to the sound is the legendary Swedish Lundahl large-core transformer and NOS 6AU6 tube, which matches the tonal character of the original. Paired with the tube is a custom-designed heat sink, which is essential for reducing heat inside the microphone and allowing the tube to operate at an optimum temperature where inherent noise and distortion virtually disappear, contributing to the microphone's amazingly clear sonic character. The cable that connects the tube microphone to its power supply is an often overlooked part of the signal chain. The WA-8000 uses a custom 7-pin GAC-7 cable from Swiss company Gotham. The design and build quality of this cable enhances the presence of peak sound and the overall size of the recorded image in the stereo field by reducing the phase shift and parasitic effect often found in poorly made cables.
