LEGÉRE American Cut Barytone 2.25

Légére slices are made of a special polypropylene material that is completely safe, non-toxic and commonly used in the food industry. Each slice is then separately tested for hardness and hand-packed. Thanks to machine cutting, the Légére slices are precisely centred, allowing a very specific tone to be created.

The American Cut line represents a new generation of Légére saxophone slices that is unlike any existing reed slices. By taking away material from the sides of the slice and adding it towards the centre (heart), the slice retains its rigidity and allows the edges to vibrate as freely as possible. This change creates a sharp edge in the middle of the slice and also gives it a unique look. From the first note, the slice plays with complete ease while having a clear beginning of the tone. It makes the lower register in particular very clear. It is effortless, easy to play, sonically colourful and has its own unique character.

Thanks to its consistent characteristics and colourful, specific sound, Légére slices are commonly used in all genres and levels - from beginners to professionals in the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics or among Broadway musicians.
