The body of the instrument is made of alder, which is popular for its balanced sound and light weight. The aesthetic is then beautifully complemented by the luxurious maple top with walnut stripe. In addition, the body of the instrument is lightened and ergonomically shaped to ensure that you are always as comfortable as possible when playing. The through neck is made of proven maple wood, and the ebony fingerboard is equipped with 24 frets or a brass fretboard. Thanks to the through neck, the instrument has a very long sustain and a very clear sound full of higher harmonic information. You can look forward to excellent flugelhorns, and if you're a slap lover, there's nothing to worry about with this bass.
Sound pickups are handled by a pair of custom-made, passive Bartolini humbucker pickups, which together with the active circuit from Darkglass give the instrument a very wide sonic palette. As well as volume controls for each pickup, you also have potentiometers to control treble and bass frequencies, expanding the sonic possibilities even further. Also available is a control for the midrange frequencies, which is located inside the electronics cavity.
The strings are housed in a solid aluminum locking headstock, which transmits vibrations superbly and provides stable tuning. On the other side, you'll find top-of-the-line mechanics from the renowned Gotoh company.
The first Spector instruments were built in 1976 in New York. Specifically, it was the design from today's NS series, designed for the company by Ned Steinberger, which is still very popular with professional musicians around the world today virtually unchanged. The company's popularity grew significantly in the 1980s, especially with Sting and The Police, and today these basses are associated with names such as Bryan Beller (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Dethklok), Guy Pratt (Madonna, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson), Ian Hill (Judas Priest), Mike Kroeger (Nickelback) and many others. In the late 1980s, the production of instruments was partly moved to the Czech Republic, where the company still manufactures its Euro series. With Spector you can be sure that you will always get a truly top quality instrument in your hands.
