Sterling by Music Man instruments are currently the newest addition to the Music Man family. The models produced under this brand are faithful copies of the "adult" instruments that Music Man manufactures in the USA, but are available at a significantly more affordable price. Their components are precision-manufactured in Korea, with careful assembly taking place in Indonesia, but final set-up and final inspection taking place at Music Man's headquarters in California, USA. As a result, these instruments offer incredibly high quality for their price, surpassing much of their competition.
The mahogany body of the RAY34 PB-DSBS-R2 features a spectacular poplar root veneer top and a Dark Scarlet Burst Satin finish. The neck, which is bolted to the body with six screws, is made of "baked" maple. The gauge is measured at the classic 864 mm, the width of the zero fret is 43 mm. An Alnico humbucker takes care of the instrument's sound reinforcement, while an overall volume control and an active three-band preamp are available for adjusting the sound.
The tuning machines on the headstock are placed in the traditional "Music Man way", i.e. 3 + 1. On the other side, the strings are anchored in a Music Man Designed hardened steel headstock. Of course, the guitar has an adjustable neck brace that can be worked with without removing the strings or other hardware. Along with the instrument you get a quality gigbag.
