The instrument's more compact body is made of laminated maple complemented by a solid spruce block that reinforces the guitar's soundboard while helping to eliminate unwanted feedback effects. The nato neck with a Thin "U" profile is glued to a fig fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by positional imitation pearl blocks (Pearloid Big Block).
The secret to the Streamliner Series sound is the Broad'Tron BT-2S high output humbuckers specifically designed for this series of instruments. They give the guitars a balanced sound with robust bass, clean highs and punchy mids. Adjust the character of the sound with the two volume potentiometers (for each pickup separately), the tone shutter and the Master Volume control.
The strings are anchored via a faux bone fretboard in the company's Die-Cast tuning machines and via an Adjusto-Matic tailpiece seated on a wooden base in a licensed Bigsby B50 tremolo. The classic eye-pleasing design of Gretsch guitars is accentuated by a number of styling features - from the arched body construction with flared F holes for improved acoustic projection, elegant binding with a subtle hint of patina (Aged White) and black and white pickguard, vintage-style potentiometers, nickel hardware and black pickguard.
