The Squier 40th Anniversary Special Edition celebrates the successful 40th anniversary of the introduction of the Fender Squier line in 1982. From the early days to today, guitars and basses with the Squier logo have represented the answer to the demand for more affordable Fender instrument designs.
The 40th Anniversary Jazz Bass Gold Edition offers a number of stylish features, whether it's the gold-finished hardware and pickguard, the figured fig fingerboard fitted with imitation mother-of-pearl position blocks, the anniversary engraving on the neck plate, or the full gloss finish on the body and neck.
The body of the bass in the classic double-cut design is made of nyatoh wood. The bolted maple neck with a pleasing C profile is glued to a fig fingerboard fitted with twenty Narrow Tall frets. Single-coil pickups with Alnico V magnets give the bass a classic "JB" sound that is both pleasantly warm and superbly legible. Its contours are then adjusted using the volume potentiometers for each pickup and the common tone shutter. The strings are anchored in the company's tuning machines and vintage-style tailpiece. The zero fret is made of real bone.
