DARKGLASS Alpha Omega Photon

The new bass effect called Photon from Darkglass once again significantly pushes the standard of quality and sonic possibilities forward. In this compact pedal effect package you will find two independent iconic Alpha and Omega distortion circuits, an intelligent multiband compressor, speaker simulation or a six-band equalizer. Thanks to the intelligent design, the effect is not only very easy to use, but also has the ability to program and control every part of the effect via MIDI or Bluetooth. In your hands, you have virtually unlimited sonic possibilities that you can literally carry in your pocket.

The first in the effects line is the compressor, which can be easily controlled with a single potentiometer. New intelligent technology allows you to automatically adjust the ideal ratios of input signal strength to compression so that even with extreme amounts of compression, the signal retains the right intensity. Next in line is the Drive potentiometer, which kicks your sound up a notch and adds distortion. This can then be controlled in more detail with the Mod potentiometer, which you can use to determine the ratio of the Alpha and Omega distortion circuits. The Alpha circuit provides a punchy, focused sound with clear definition, while the Omega circuit has brutal, uncompromising distortion. However, in addition to this, the pedal is also capable of processing a sidechain signal with a clean sound, which can then be mixed with the distorted signal using the Blend function. The Level potentiometer then functions as a master volume control. Also special are the unique, extremely precise touch sliders, which you can use to control the six-band programmable equalizer.

You'll also find a trio of multi-function footswitches on the top panel, which can be used to change the modes of a particular effect by rotating them. Thus, the first switch can be used to turn on and select one of five compressor modes, the second to control one of five distortion functions, and the third to select one of five speaker simulations. Each switch also has a bypass function control.

The pedal doesn't lag behind in connectivity either - it houses a USB-C audio interface, DI XLR output, headphone output, aux input, MIDI input or Bluetooth connectivity, which you can use to control the pedal via the Darkglass Suite app.
