The SP-404MKII still packs in popular effects like Vinyl Simulator, DJFX Looper, Vocoder, Auto Pitch, but now also includes new features like Lo-fi, Cassette Simulator, Resonator effect and Guitar Amp Simulator for microphone/instrument input. 16 Pads allow you to store up to 160 different samples, then in the sequencer section you can store another 160 patterns, plus you can still store 16 complex projects. The rear panel has also undergone a change, where the RCA connectors have been replaced by the classic Jack 6.3 mm TS, MIDI is connected via Jack 3.5 mm and there's also a USB-C port for communicating with the new editor, transferring audio data from a PC, laptop or smartphone, and last but not least you can power the SP404MKII itself via USB-C.
The improved software editor now communicates via USB cable. This makes importing audio and MIDI files even faster and more convenient than ever before. You can also import projects from previous versions of the SP-404SX and SP-404A into the editor. Roland has not rested on its laurels, and this refresh will be appreciated by happy owners of the good old SP-404.
