FENDER SQUIER FSR CV Late '50s Precision Bass® MFB GAPG 2-Color Sunburst

The Precision Bass, Fender's first electric bass model, was introduced in 1951. It was therefore the first ever mass-produced electric bass. The "PB" earned the name "Precision" because, unlike double basses, its fingerboard was roasted - bassists could play more "precisely". In addition, it offered a more concrete and crisp tone. This model has gone through a long evolution over the last few decades and today you can find it in the hands of bassists from blues to R&B to rock.

This new limited edition celebrates the Precision Bass models of the late 1950s, when the instrument underwent several improvements and also received a new design that can be found extensively on modern instruments.

The body of this bass is made of Nyatoh wood, the neck is made of maple varnished with a glossy urethane lacquer. Together with a comfortable "C" shaped neck profile and twenty narrow-tall frets, the instrument will provide maximum playing comfort. The radius of the maple fingerboard is measured at 9.5 inches, while the bone fretboard has the traditional 42.8 mm width.

The instrument is equipped with a traditional split single coil pickup, specifically the Fender Designed Alnico Split-Coil model. Its sound can be adjusted using the volume and tone potentiometers.

The strings are anchored in a vintage-style headstock with four threaded stones. On the other side of the instrument, you'll find Vintage Style tuning mechanisms that make tuning stability truly maximum. The hardware is chrome and on the body you will find a single-ply pickguard in a stylish Gold Anodized Aluminum color. The bass is strung with Fender NPS strings from .045 - .105 gauge.
