The NS Ethos series is a modern take on the original NS model that remains as relevant as it is popular nearly forty years later. The extremely comfortable body is made of maple and adorned with a top made of poplar root. The comfortable neck is glued together from three layers of maple, while the rosewood fingerboard is fitted with 24 frets, luminescent position markers and a brass fretboard. The instrument has a very long sustain and a very clear sound full of higher harmonic information thanks to the through neck. You can look forward to excellent flugelhorns, and if you're a slap lover, there's no problem with this bass. Enclosed tuning machines on a typically shaped headstock adorned with the Spector logo and a massive locking headstock with 16.8mm string spacing come in black.
Sound pickups are handled by a pair of Aguilar pickups, which together with the Aguilar OBP-2 active circuit provide the instrument with a very wide sound palette. In addition to volume control, you also have pickup balance or potentiometers to control treble and bass frequencies, expanding the sonic possibilities even further.
The Ethos bass line is built in South Korea, where the manufacturer maintains the high standards of the Spector brand. With precision craftsmanship, tone, playability and looks, these basses are on par with instruments from higher price ranges.
