The JHS Paul Gilbert PG-14 is guitar wizard Paul Gilbert's signature overdrive/distortion pedal, made exactly to his specifications. The box's FET distortion circuit perfectly emulates the sensitivity, feel and response of a melted guitar amp - so musicians can enjoy the dynamics and tone of a properly right-twisted power amp even at lower, comfortable volumes. Another interesting feature of the effect is the active mid-frequency preamp placed in front of the FET distortion circuit. The MID and MID FREQ controls thus not only determine the prominence of the midrange frequencies, but also the frequency range (400 Hz to 7.5 kHz) in which the MID knob will operate. The remaining controls determine the output volume, the amount of distortion (overdrive), and the EQ.
The pedal is wired as a true bypass. The power supply is provided by a 9V adapter, the box draw corresponds to 36mA.
