The Affinity Series Squier models represent Fender's most popular electric guitar and bass designs at a fraction of the price of the originals. This makes them an ideal choice for aspiring musicians who would like to own one of these legendary instruments but don't want to invest a huge amount of money in its purchase.
First introduced in 1962, the Jaguar model draws its design cues from the Jazzmaster, four years earlier. It's hard to say whether this was a new attempt by Fender to break into jazz after the failure of the Jazzmaster, or a new type of instrument for the surf rock scene, but either way, the Jaguar has found a following, especially in alternative rock. Produced between 1962 and 1975, it has been back in production since 1999. From the Jaguar electric guitar, Fender naturally derived its bass version, which has become equally popular.
As well as being a stylish affair at first glance, this bass has a shortened 813mm gauge, a lightweight poplar body and a comfortable C profile neck that makes it very comfortable to play. A humbucker pickup with ceramic magnets provides a thick, full and punchy sound. This can then be fine-tuned to your exact needs using the volume and tone diaphragm potentiometers. Thanks to this, you can play the instrument in virtually any genre, and you can be sure that you won't be overlooked on stage.
