ZOOM G6

The Zoom G6 is another addition to Zoom's family of guitar multieffects. It features a wide selection of Zoom's legendary guitar effects arranged in four categories (DYNMCS/FILTER , DRIVE, MOD, DELAY/REVERB), Zoom virtual machine models in the traditional range from vintage and blues/rock classics to modern prog metal/djent sounds, 70 precisely captured impulse response (IR) guitar cabinets (over 20 cabs, each captured in three different microphone settings), space to record over a hundred custom IRs, an integrated expression pedal, 68 great-sounding drum patterns, and a looper with 45 seconds of recording time (with an SD card, capacity increases to two hours, and up to 256 loops can be created and stored).

The multi-effect offers a total of 240 patches in 60 banks (up to nine effects can be setup within a single patch, or seven effects with instrument emulation) and four different operating modes, which you set with the Play Mode switch - Looper, Memory (patch organisation), Bank/Patch (bank and patch scrolling) and Effects Board (pedal chain visualisation, simple activation/deactivation of individual effects in the chain). The mode selection determines the function of the four footswitches and is reflected by a change in the display. The 4.3-inch diagonal display itself allows you to edit individual patches using the drag and drop method. Four rotary knobs (Control Knobs) are used to edit the parameters of each effect, and the expression pedal can be used to change selected effect/patch parameters in real time.

The individual user settings are automatically saved by the multieffect (Auto Safe function). Thanks to the built-in USB audio interface (2 inputs / 2 outputs), the multieffect can be connected to the Zoom Guitar Lab software/library (PC, Mac), where you can browse through the program's extensive sound database and record/download great emulations of instruments, effects and patches by well-known artists. Zoom G6 also offers wireless Bluetooth connectivity to the Handy Guitar Lab app (BTA-1 adapter not included), so you can use your phone's display to control and edit individual patches.

To complete the list of features and capabilities of this compact multieffect, you should add a built-in chromatic tuner, tap tempo function, aux in input for audio/mp3 sources, mono/stereo output from the multieffect with output volume control where the mono output can be used as a headphone output, an effects loop for integrating your favorite pedal effects and an input for an external expression pedal. Signal processing is 32-bit, with AD/DA converters operating at 24-bit/44.1 kHz resolution. The included adapter is used for power supply. In addition to the adapter, a Quick Guide and a license for Steinberg Cubase LE DAW are included.
