Despite its small size and vintage feel, this pedal will give you a very wide range of sonic possibilities - from classic vintage to very modern. As with its large, amp version, you'll find a four-band EQ with adjustable midrange frequencies or a three-position switch with different equalization settings - Flat, Cut (enriched lower and high spectrums) and Old (vintage style).
The Mark Vintage Pre provides two types of distortion where you can dial in light overdrive, aggressive distortion, and anything in between. Plus, thanks to the blend potentiometer, you can adjust the ratio of clean to distorted signal. Then, with the boost switch, you can add up to 6 dB to your sound and make it sound beautiful when soloing, for example.
On the rear panel, you'll find a balanced DI output, used for a clear, uncolored sound that's rich and balanced across all frequency bands. You'll also find a digital RCA output - an idea that Marcus Miller himself came up with when he wanted to achieve professional studio sound in a small, travel-friendly package. This output gives you a 44.1/48/96 kHz sample rate, so you can record in studio quality virtually anywhere.
Of course, there's a headphone output or aux input, and all audio connoisseurs will be pleased with the added effects loop.
