With a 15-step scale, you can adjust the volume to suit your exact needs at the time (120dB - 20dB), so you can play your digital saxophone anytime, anywhere without the risk of disturbing anyone.

The Integrated Bell Acoustic System offers the best of two worlds - quality digital sound and the expressiveness of an acoustic wind instrument. The system responds to the airflow from the mouthpiece of the saxophone, which is digitally transformed and turned into sound by internal drivers - which then vibrates the brass soundboard of the saxophone, perfectly creating the illusion of a real acoustic instrument. The YDS-150's flap layout is modeled after a popular acoustic saxophone model to achieve the best possible playing characteristics and natural feel.

The breath sensor detects the intensity of your blowing into the saxophone mouthpiece - so you'll simply create beautiful tones and melodies (while maintaining proper fingering) without working out perfect technique and feel.

The YDS-150 uses sampled Yamaha acoustic saxophone sounds (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone) recorded in full tone by professional saxophonists. You can instantly change the tonality, range and timbre of each saxophone/preset - the digital saxophone offers a total of 73 presets, including 56 saxophone sounds plus the sounds of nine other wind instruments.

Thanks to the USB interface, you can edit settings, select sounds, fingering and more using the Yamaha app on your smartphone, which also offers more advanced/detailed editing options. An Aux In input for external sound sources and a headphone output let you jam to played music.

The digital saxophone comes in a soft case with a strap and a set of accessories for the mouthpiece (YDS mouthpiece, slice, ligature, hat). The instrument can be powered by batteries (4x AAA Alkaline or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries) or via USB 5V/1A (micro USB Type-B).
