Step up to hours of singing - with perfect tuning
This device is chock full of unique features, whether it's the vertical design that feels good in the hand, with notes appearing on the sheet music for intuitive pitch control, or the Sound Back function, where you'll hear the reference note that's closest to the sung note.
By giving you the necessary confidence, the VPT-1 Vocal Intonation Trainer will help you take your singing to the next level.
A dedicated vocal intonation trainer from Korg, the leading manufacturer of tuners
The recording of your voice sounds different from how you hear yourself. That's because sound travels a different path, and chances are you're naturally aware of this difference when you sing. In that case, you feel like you're intoning just fine, but is that really the case?
It's important to be aware not only of the difference in how you hear the sound, but also of the pitch. That's why it's a good idea to train your senses by using a tuning fork to check your intonation. The importance of this difference is taken for granted with other instruments, so now is the time to start addressing it with singing. The VPT-1 is an intonation teacher that has been developed specifically for singing, using the know-how that Korg has acquired over more than 40 years of making tuners that have earned the trust of musicians around the world.
Display with sheet music
When you sing into the VPT-1's internal microphone, the note you're singing is displayed on a note warp that is prefaced by either a violin or bass clef. The red LEDs on the left indicate whether the note is higher or lower, so move your voice until only the blue LED in the middle is lit. Individual differences in voice pitch can be resolved by using the octave shift function, where you can select the detected range by moving up and down one octave at a time so that the displayed note still appears between the five lines of the staff.
Three adjustable tuning levels (difficulty)
Tuning accuracy can be adjusted in three steps. You can start with the easy EASY mode, and as you develop your skills, you can increase the difficulty to MEDIUM and later to HARD to develop as much as possible towards perfect intonation.
The Sound Out function generates a reference tone
This is an essential feature for those who don't have absolute hearing. This function generates a specified reference tone. This is especially convenient when you are practicing a song that begins with a vocal part. And you can also use this to improve relative intonation when you repeatedly listen and then sing the reference tone.
The Sound Back function generates a reference tone that is closest to your vocal input
Like Sound Out, Sound Back helps you improve your own sense of intonation by playing a reference tone that is closest to the pitch of the tone you sing. Together with the LED indicators, the reference tone gives you practice with all three senses: eyes, ears and mouth.
