This instrument falls under the SR series, offering one of the traditional forms of Ibanez basses since 1987. The characteristics of these instruments are certainly the massive ergonomically shaped body with two cutouts that allow perfect accessibility to all positions, the pleasantly thin neck that contributes to a really comfortable playing, the careful selection of the woods and hardware used, the great versatility of use and, most importantly, the great sound. The Gio version offers instruments where the aim is to offer the highest quality at the lowest possible price.
The body of this bass is made of poplar wood. The neck corresponds to the GSR4 type, consists of three pieces of maple, and is fitted with 22 Medium frets. It has the following parameters: the gauge is measured at 864 mm, the width of the zero fret is 41 mm, the height in the zero fret is 21 mm, in the 12th it is 22 mm, the radius corresponds to 305 mm. All this contributes to easy and quick hand movement and a pleasant playing feeling.
The instrument is equipped with two Ibanez Dynamix J passive pickups of Single Coil type, the sound from them can be controlled by two Volume potentiometers (separately for each pickup) and a tone shutter. Thanks to this combination of pickups and other electronics, it's completely seamless to get a large number of sound settings while maintaining perfect tone color and dynamics. The strings are anchored in a B10 type headstock, the stones of which give the strings a pitch of 19 mm.
