The body of the guitar is made of mahogany. The bolted maple neck is glued to a fingerboard made of jatoba wood, also known as Brazilian cherry, fitted with twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets.
Two proprietary passive humbuckers provide the guitar with the necessary sonic drive and articulation even in the deepest positions. The tuning stability is also benefited by the longer, baritone neck menorah. The sound can be shaped as standard using the volume potentiometers, tone shutter and three-position pickup switch. Tuning stability is guaranteed by the anchoring of the strings in the company's gold-finished mechanics and a solid bridge with string attachment through the body.
ESP has been making electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in an affordable option. However, even in the case of ESP-LTD guitars, great emphasis is placed on the quality of workmanship and fitted components.
