ENGL Ironball Special Edition

The Ironball E606SE guitar amplifier from the special Engl series bridges the analogue and digital worlds. Basically, it is a two-channel all-tube amplifier with 20W output and clear controls, which (as far as sound is concerned) does not make any compromises, i.e. it does not use any semiconductors in the signal path, so that the sound is as pure as possible.

The sound range of the first channel (Clean) starts on a bright clean sound and ends on a rockier crunch. The second channel (Lead) picks up where the Clean channel leaves off, and continues into the realms of metallic ultra-hi gain. The character of the sound can be shaped by the three-band EQ, the Lead Presence control of the end amp, or "kicked up" by the Gain Boost switch (can be activated by footswitch). Many will also appreciate the ability to attenuate the sound thanks to the Power Soak control on the rear panel, where you can reduce the power of the machine down to 1W. You will be able to enjoy the awesome "melted" sound of the amplifier even at room volume.

The digital world is represented by MIDI compatibility, a digital effects processor (integrated reverb and delay effects) and an IR loader (the amp offers three preset Engl IR cabinets and five slots for your own IR to be loaded via USB). From this it's clear that, in addition to the 16 and 8 ohm speaker outputs, you can also use the balanced XLR DI output for direct connection to a mixer or recording device. The rear panel also offers an effects loop, footswitch input and effects controls (Reverb, Delay) and built-in Noise Gate. The vast majority of functions are controllable via front panel switches or MIDI footswitches.
