FENDER Mustang Bass PJ MN SSB

Since their introduction in 1964, electric basses from the Mustang series have found their way into the hands of bassists of many genres. This upgraded version of the popular instrument also adds the power of new P-Bass and J-Bass pickups to the traditional design, making it easy to take you through any playing style. Although these are not US-Made basses (they are made in Ensenada, Mexico) even these instruments are subject to comprehensive output checks.

The body of this Mustang is made from proven alder, which combined with the maple neck and fingerboard provides a traditional feel and excellent resonance. The neck is profiled as a comfortable modern C with a satin lacquer finish, and a sure hand on the fingerboard is supported by Medium Jumbo frets that are ideal for the vast majority of playing styles.

The aforementioned pair of pickups also work well with the body and neck materials, with one side of the spectrum represented by a punchy and crisp-sounding Jazz Bass-type single-coil, while the split-coil pickup in the middle position takes care of the thick and clearly defined tones. The sound control is minimalist in tradition and is handled only by the overall volume control and the tone shutter potentiometer. The hardware is also of typical Fender quality, with open drive, a synthetic bone fretboard and a four-stone fingerboard ensuring stable tuning. The strings are Fender 7250M strings, which complement the instrument's short gauge perfectly.
