The English brand Origin Effects represents another interesting concept in the field of contemporary manufacturers of hand made pedal effects. Unlike many other products, Origin Effects pedal effects do not refer to the past and boutique design, but reflect the needs of contemporary musicians in terms of functionality and durability. Each product undergoes a complex process (from hand soldering and assembling the individual components, calibration with an audio analyzer, fitting them into a durable brushed steel chassis, testing the final product with a real instrument, i.e. guitar or bass, to an output check confirmed by a handwritten serial number on the box). You can therefore be sure that you will only receive a product that meets the brand's high standards.

The Cali76 Stacked Edition is an upgrade to the SlideRIG pedal effects concept. It is a studio-quality, two-level FET guitar compressor that (like all Origin Effects SlideRIG pedals) draws inspiration from the stack of Little Feat frontman/guitarist Lowell George, whose signature slide sound was backed by two interconnected 1176 compressors.

This compact pedal is built on the same foundation. It features a discrete Class A circuit with ultra-low noise and two series-connected compressor circuits, high input impedance, silent switching and maximum clarity controls. Separate ATT/REL knobs allow you to control the Attack/Release of each compressor, while the Thru knob setting determines how much the second compressor is affected by the first (amount of signal passing through). So you can simply use the first compression level to get a full tone with awesome sustain, and the second to balance the dynamics (classic studio compressor/sustainer/limiter model).

The remaining controls determine the strength with which the input signal meets the fixed threshold of the first compressor (IN), the overall volume/strength of the output signal (OUT), and the dry/wet ratio of the signal (DRY). A three-colour jewel LED indication will inform you of the actual compression level at any time. A 9-18V adapter is used to power the pedal effect.
