High-quality, low-noise Class A J-Fet microphone preamplifier. This type is designed for condenser and electret microphones, which can provide much better response over a wider frequency range and significantly reduce noise levels.
It can provide amplification up to 18 dB, allowing the use of much longer microphone cables without adversely affecting the sound. It is particularly suitable for condenser microphones with low output signal levels.
The electronics are housed in a rugged chassis that can withstand the harsh conditions in the studio or on the road.
This model passes 48V phantom power further into the microphone. It is thus possible to power the microphone through it. It is not suitable for ribbon microphones or the Rode NTG 2 model.
