The pedal effects of the Japanese brand Boss 200 series build on the success of the larger models with the 500 label, whose qualities are translated into a smaller, more pedalboard-friendly format. All effects in the series offer top-notch sound thanks to 32-bit/96kHz converters.
The Boss EQ-200 Graphic Equalizer is an extremely flexible ten-band dual-channel guitar/bass equalizer with a graphical display showing the EQ curve. The equalizer operates from 30 Hz to 12.8 kHz and offers completely intuitive controls in the form of ten faders (gain/attenuation of 15 dB on each), a Master Level fader and a Channel button that can be used to switch between channels, while pressing it longer to activate the Panel Lock function, where you "lock" the current setting (bypassing the faders).
The EQ-200 doesn't lag behind when it comes to interfacing and integrating external controllers. Both channels can work in stereo or independently in parallel or serial, where, for example, in serial mode you can use the first EQ for basic sound settings and the second for solos. The mono/stereo inputs and outputs of the pedal are complemented by a connector for connecting an external footswitch/expression pedal and a Midi In/Out, whereby you can interconnect pedals from the 200 series and control different parameters simultaneously. A micro USB interface is used for software updates.
In the case of the EQ-200 effect, you'll appreciate the multi-function footswitches to the maximum, where you can assign more advanced functions (channel switching, specific memory selection, etc.) to the switches, in addition to turning the effect off/on and switching between the four internal memories, where you can simply save and then recall your favourite presets.
The box, like all pedals in current Boss production, operates in Buffered Bypass mode. Power is supplied by a 9V adapter (not included - the manufacturer recommends an adapter that can deliver at least 170 mA) or three AA batteries.
