The third generation of professional Thunderbolt audio interfaces for PC/Mac brings improved ADDA converter performance over the previous series, added support for surround listening and production systems, and most importantly, enhanced DSP performance to six cores (Hexa-Core).
The Apollo x6 enables music producers, music and post-production studios to record, dub and mix on new premium A/D and D/A converters, Hexa-Core UAD processors and with support for 5.1 surround monitoring - all in a 1U rack unit with Thunderbolt 3 interface for PC or Mac. It offers audio interfaces with a total of 16 x 22 in/out. Two microphone preamps with Unison technology, offering authentic emulation of analog preamps from Neve, API, Manley, Helios, SSL and more. The emulation plug-ins are powered by six-core HEXA Core processing, offering 50% more performance than on the previous generation Apollo. In addition to elite quality A/D and DACs, the Apollo x6 offers adjustable in/out levels for compatibility with professional equipment, with +24dBu levels, integrated monitor management and built-in microphone for talkback.
Up to 4 Apollo Thunderbolt interfaces (even older generation) and up to 6 UAD devices in total can be connected. All are backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 1 and 2 using the appropriate adapters. Included in the package is the "Realtime Analog Classic Plus" plug-in package containing UA 610-B Tube Preamp, Pultec EQ, LA-2A, 1176 Compressor, Marshall Plexi, Ampeg SVR-VR and more. It is possible to purchase other plug-ins and packages (approx. 100 items) from the Universal Audio store.
