Inspired by the legendary 251 microphones that have been used on the most famous recordings from the 1950s to the present day, the Warm Audio WA-251 tube microphone. The large-diaphragm microphone features a retro design and great usability features allowing versatile use for home and professional recording studio or live and radio applications. Suitable for recording vocals, electric or acoustic guitars and basses, drums, keyboards, wind and string instruments.
The affordable microphone replica also includes high quality vintage components that have been made to the original blueprint. The all-metal CK-12 microphone capsule is 24k gold plated and features a wide frequency range with crystal clear highs, bright mids and rounded bass. The microphone includes a JJ 12AY7 tube made in Slovakia, which adds tonal smoothness and vintage characteristics to the sound.
Included in the package is a quality seven pin cable made in Switzerland specifically for tube microphones. The WA-251 is powered through a CineMag USA transformer with a three-position directional switch to get the best sound from the microphone. The microphone mounts in a cushioned mount, then a sturdy wooden hardcase with padded interior ensures safe transport.
